// URUGUAY Uruguay was the second country of my trip, and again, being the slow traveler that I am, I stayed here several months, renting an apartment in the historic districts of the capital city, Montevideo. If I can put in a good word for a particularly lovely little country, let it be Uruguay. Having taken private Spanish lessons in Argentina, here I actually signed up for a full time immersive Spanish school, and that proved to be much better for my language acquisition skills. Later, I rented a car with some friends and explored many of the coastal villages and more remote spots of this interesting and beautiful country.
